WINNER: Boris K. Full name Withheld Due to Former Assignment.

Boris K. - US Citizen, born in the Soviet Union, and grew up in NYC. This excellent linguist joined the US Army and served as a member of a Special Operations Team Alpha (SOT-A,) a small SIGINT element, eventually becoming the team leader and completing two deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.   (Full Bio)  and National Security Essay  See Press Release

Honoring CPL Christopher J. Coffland ($500)

WINNER: Trevor Kennedy

Trevor Kennedy winning Essay and Bio.

CPL Christopher J. Coffland was assigned to the 323rd Military Intelligence Battalion and was killed in action during Operation Enduring Freedom in Wardak Province, Afghanistan on November 13, 2009. A dedicated, brave and courageous American, Specialist Coffland received two Bronze Stars for bravery and a Purple Heart among other medals for his service. Information and Requirements page.
